The Sydney Skinny Ocean Swim

@ Cobblers Beach

$40

Step out of your comfort zone this summer and take part in the fourth annual Sydney Skinny presented by nudie, Australia’s most exhilarating swim.

Entries are now open for the event’s two swim courses - the 900m and 300m - which are both nude, untimed and suitable for people of all swimming abilities.

The Sydney Skinny has been described as life affirming and uplifting, and celebrates positive body image, self-acceptance, personal achievement and the opportunity for people to change the way they live their lives.

Clothes, constraints and inhibitions are left on the sand as thousands of people challenge themselves to an invigorating swim from Cobbler’s Beach, Middle Head, protected by the privacy and stunning surrounds of Sydney Harbour National Park.

While the swim is reserved for adults only, families and kids are welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy the free music and food on offer at the specially designated event picnic area in the National Park.

“The Sydney Skinny is an absolutely fantastic day out with lots of laughter and a focus on health and happiness. Everyone emerges from the water feeling more optimistic, happier and connected,” said Nigel Marsh, event founder.

“And it’s not about nudity,” he said. “The Sydney Skinny is about leaving all pretences behind, kick-starting a new and exciting chapter in life and focusing on the things that unite us and make life worth living; from courage, acceptance, kindness, friendship, adventure, laughter, diversity, charity, community, and above all, joy.

“Everyone is welcome to join us in stepping out of their comfort zone, in one of the most beautiful locations in the world.”

People looking to enter are encouraged to book early to secure the group or ‘wave’ of their choice. The event is not a race, with small groups of participants entering the water at different stages throughout the day in a spectator-free and secluded environment.

The Sydney Skinny aims to raise money for a number of Australian charities and causes, including the McGrath Foundation and the Foundation of National Parks and Wildlife.
