Seadeck Sydney VIP Cruises

On a balmy Sydney night who wouldn't want to be cruising Sydney Harbour onboard the revamped floating venue, Seadeck? Sydney Scoop happened to be doing just that, the Thursday evening leading into the Halloween weekend (along with, it seemed, every other party boat in Sydney). While a Halloween flavour appeared on other boats, the theme of Seadeck's VIP launch cruise was simply "Welcome Back Seadeck - no costume required except for an internal party vibe". This mood held guests in good stead while waiting patiently and witnessing Seadeck's lengthy jostling for a berth at King Street Wharf.

Once onboard, revellers didn't allow a late departure to spoil their night. Guests quickly started enjoying all the party amenities offered by the revitalised Seadeck, a boat that had been languishing at Cockatoo Island during the two year Covid disaster prior to its new owners, the proprietors of Escape Boating, breathing new life into the 42-metre, 450-passenger vessel. Their plan is now to have the best VIP party boat on Sydney Harbour by providing regular live music by admired overseas and local DJs matched with a new cocktail and food menu.

VIP celebrity and media guests totally launched the start of Seadeck's party season by kicking up their heels on the dance floor to old skool dance tunes; drank Coronas, Peronis, Margaritas and the refreshingly sweet, girly 'Below Deck' cocktail (Vodka with Peach Liqueur, Passion Fruit Puree, Vanilla Syrup, Pineapple Juice, and Lime); as well as devouring tasty canapes from renowned Chef Simon Ekas, that wait staff seamlessly delivered to all parts of the boat. Highlights of the canapes menu included betel leaf with hot smoked kingfish, pomelo and coconut; baked Hervey Bay scallops with black garlic and parsley butter; roast carrot, sage and ricotta tortellini with burnt butter; and the very awesome petit shrimp burger with gochujang glaze and butter lettuce.

New onboard features refurbished by internationally renowned interior designer, Alex Zabotto Bentley from AZB Creative, include a custom-designed three-level deck, a grand staircase, a raised state-of-the-art DJ booth and a full length dance floor surrounded by a tier of comfy lounges and tables on the main deck and a oceanic bar with exotic greenery aplenty and a custom-built, retractable awning. The staircase leads to a second deck with another full-service bar and seating set amongst azure hues. The top deck gives way to spectacular 360-degree views and is adorned with comfy seating. VIP tables with full bottle service and dedicated wait staff are scattered over all three decks for those looking for a truly decadent experience.

Most definitely the huge winning aspect of Seadeck during the forthcoming La Nina season are the retractable awnings. With a simple press of a button, two of the decks are instantly fully protected. This state-of-the-art addition ensures that guests can enjoy cruising aboard Seadeck, regardless of the elements on the day. This will indeed enable harbour party goers to blissfully dance and drink away to their heart's delight even if La Nina continues to lash Sydney this summer.

Sydneysiders wanting to party like celebrities can round up 10 mates and book their very own premium VIP booth for $2500, which comes with your own dedicated table, personal waitstaff, charcuterie board, a 1.75L Ciroc Vodka, Moet Chandon, and unlimited mixers.
