The cafe menu at Bread, Espresso & Gwyneville reads simply enough. First sitting on the bench against the wall, and making our brunch choices - to be truthful there were no great expectations. Yet this bright, sparkling clean and cheerful first stop on our south coast day trip was the best choice to refresh and replenish before heading up the road to the Wollongong Botanic Garden.

Every product and ingredient is of the highest quality. Thoroughbread bread and bagels from the southern Sydney wholesale bakery in Kirrawee. Crumpets by Merna. Coffee from Allpress. Service with a big smile rounds out the delivery from the friendly and efficient all girl team.

Bread, Espresso & from local owners Sandy and Norby Hewitt first started in Thirroul in 2015 and has now expanded to three Wollongong area cafes on Dharawal Country including this indoor outdoor Gwynneville daytime space as well as their cafe at North Wollongong. Savoury menu options are easy to add on. Baby cakes to brownies and Portugese tarts get you off to a sweeter start. Nothing is taxing or exotic, just easy order-at-the-counter choices done as well as they can be.
