Sydney Festival 2023: The Huxleys' Bloodlines

Carriageworks Summer Exhibition Opening 2023

The kick start to Sydney Festival this week was the opening Night of The Huxleys' Bloodlines curated by Jacob Boehme, Thea Anamara Perkins' Stockwoman curated by Aarna Fitzgerald Hanley, and Paul Yore: WORD MADE FLESH curated by Max Delany, in collaboration with Paul Yore and Devon Ackerman.

The Huxley's Bloodlines Opening Party at Carriageworks on the night before the start of Sydney Festival featured live performances from The Huxleys, Betty Grumble, Aaron Manhattan, Benjamin Hancock, Felicia Foxx, Simone Page Jones and DJ Charlie Villas.

Inspired by the historical and legendary AIDS quilts from the 1980s and 1990s the Bloodlines Quilt honours those lost to HIV/AIDS. Designed as an evolving project, the 'Stitch n Bitch' is an opportunity for you to contribute new quilt panels creating a dialogue of queer storytelling and history never to be forgotten.

Join The Huxleys for a ‘Stitch n Bitch’ session where you can contribute to their Bloodlines Quilt, as well as hear from an influential voice from the LGBTQIA+ community.
