Five Must-Have Spring Fashions

Spring is supposed to be lovely. It’s supposed to be brimming with cherry blossoms, baby lambs and females frolicking in fields à la tampon ads. But, down under, it’s rather a different story. Spring, in Australia, is that half-hearted lie of a season, trying to convince everyone that summer doesn’t actually show its face three days after winter ends. Because it does. And it’s bloody hot.

But, fashion has been somewhat kind to us sweltering southerners this spring. Have faith, dear reader, and read on.

Suede

Suede is THE material of the season. Think cool coats, like this duster jacket from M.N.G, or Swiftie’s favourite ‘tight little skirts’ – we love this one from Frame Denim!

Guipure Lace

Lightweight, floral lace is in this season – it’s sweet and sexy rolled into one! This white shift dress from Zara is perfect for spring picnics and family functions alike. If you’re feeling a little sultrier, DKNY have got your LBD update right here.

The Sleeveless Turtleneck

Give your wardrobe a staple update – a sleeveless turtleneck lends a classically chic feel to any outfit. Pair it with a suede mini-skirt for a casual day out, or choose a more daring cut for a night on the town.

Wide Leg Pants

They’re the new evening wear, and the season’s formal must-have. Whether you’re off to the opera or need a work-to-play outfit, these pants will suit. Classics in black, white or camel are easy to work into most wardrobes, but something a little more adventurous can make a statement!

Shirtdress

The shirtdress is fashion’s answer to smart-casual. Wear something simple that doesn’t break the bank to brunch and beyond, or accessorise a more edgy outfit for dinner dates.
