The launch screenings in Sydney at Ritz Cinemas will offer local audiences a preview of world-class films screening at the Festival from October to December. The full JIFF Festival program will go on sale Thursday 21 September 2023.

Directed by Academy-Award winner Guy Nattiv (Skin), Golda recounts the chaos of the Yom Kippur War, where Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir must navigate overwhelming odds, a skeptical cabinet, and a complex relationship with U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger as millions of lives hang in the balance. The special screening of Golda is presented by Jewish International Film Festival and AJN.

“The anticipation for this film is palpable. Not only does it resonate with the historical ethos of our community, but it's also a cinematic treasure brought alive by a brilliant director and a legendary actor,” said Eddie Tamir, Jewish International Film Festival Artistic Director. “This premiere screening of Golda will also give audiences the first opportunity to see the expansive roster of films the festival promises this year.”
