Hurricane's restaurants are well loved for their popular specialty steaks and finger-licking ribs and yes you will  find those dishes here at the new Hurricane's Bar & Grill Cronulla. Yet this new 5th restaurant also beckons with its own enticing flavours - such as its delicious Raw Bar and other scrumptious seafood.

As a testament of a restaurant's recommendation, people often comment "I would definitely go back" and yes, I definitely would to Hurricane's Bar & Grill Cronulla. Although a visiting Sydney tourist recently told me a tougher test. "Would I hire ALL the staff?" And the answer is another big yes! And that's a big call for a new restaurant that's just opened.

New Hurricane's Cronulla with its wide street front and floor to ceiling bifold glass doors is light and airy, allowing the fresh air of South Cronulla Beach breezes to add to the atmosphere. The decor, like the local staff, is friendly and welcoming.

When perusing the extensive menu, a 12 month mission by acclaimed top Chef Justin North, his long time commitment to best Australian produce is immediately evident. And the proof is in the cooking and the eating. Simply satisfying elegance.

Best picks from the Raw Bar to start the Cronulla feast include the most delightful light and refreshing Scallop crudo, salmon roe, dill and pickled cucumber, and Marinated Hiramasa kingfish, white soy and sesame. And who doesn't love Sydney rock oysters to whet the appetite (and the libido). The Hurricane's Cronulla Raw Bar also provides inspiration for best bar snacks to match the Hurricane's cocktails, as an event in themselves, or as a lovely start to date night. (That's where oysters come in best, right?)

Starters are super for sharing, or for your own individual plates, or even as a cheerful grazing table meal in their own. Try - Sliced San Daniele prosciutto, grilled purple figs, basil and burrata; Roasted baby beet salad, marinated red onion, labneh and toasted walnuts; Grilled Harvey Bay scallops, lime, miso and garlic burnt butter; Grilled butterfly Shark Bay prawns, garlic, chilli and herb butter - the Chef's recommendations.

Chef Justin North also points the table to try Lamb ribs - a new experience and hugely enjoyed by us. Hurricane's is also known for its super steaks and beef comes in grass fed vs grain fed choices, premium and dry aged. Choice of sauces too.

An iconic Australian chef once confirmed that a meal is best with a beginning, a middle and an end. Want to finish with awesome desserts? Well Hurricane's Cronulla is the place. All from Tiramisu through Raspberry shortcake, lemon curd and pistachio icecream to steamed ginger and date pudding with butterscotch are the bomb. Find that dessert stomach and leave on a sweet note. And make your next booking to come back to The Shire, while you're at it.
