In brie-lliant news for Australian fromage freaks, the country's most popular cheese event is set to return in triumphant form this year — with a killer line-up, up-sized venues, and a fully loaded platter of tasty accoutrements on the side.

Uniting cheese connoisseurs, pecorino pals and curd nerds all around the country, Mould (presented by Revel, the team behind the successful Pinot Palooza international event series), has become synonymous with top-quality Australian artisan cheese and all-round good times since entering the whey fray in 2017.

Over the years, the festival has pleased palates at tasting experiences devoted to celebrating handcrafted homegrown cheese in a fun, casual festival environment that has won fans across the country, introducing them to a wonderful world of cheese that leaves the supermarket dairy case for dust.

Showcasing over 100 varieties that span hard to soft, textured to earthy, stinky to mild, with raw milk varieties and everything in between, there will be dairy delights to suit every palate at this year’s Australia-wide Mould celebrations, kicking off in Brisbane this May.

Event founder, Revel CEO Dan Sims says: "Over the years, this festival has really won the hearts of cheese lovers all over Australia. Their passion for cheese — and for getting behind local cheese makers — is our passion too, and it’s this enthusiasm that has pushed us all to go big and aim even higher this year, reimagining what Mould can be."

Presenting an aromatic line-up of cheeses from over 27 producers, this year's events will also give cheese lovers access to The Grate Cheese Commission a very special selection of Mould-exclusive artisan cheeses created solely for the festival.

And the numbers don't lie; last year, Mould attendees enjoyed a mammoth one million samples across three cities and took home over 8.5 tonnes of quality Australian cheese.

In addition, the festival will this year present integrated events in Perth and Adelaide, where punters can experience a Pinot Palooza-Mould double bill. In every city, there will also be an expanded roster of independent producers from the all-important world of cheese-adjacent accoutrements, giving festivalgoers a direct line to load up on some of the finest olives, crackers, conserves and smallgoods for their next indulgent at-home cheese session.

In between samples, patrons can enjoy super-tasty cheese-forward dishes from local cheesemongers and chefs and grab a tipple from a series of bars pouring incredible Australian wines alongside vodka and gin from Tasmania's Hartshorn and crowd favourite Archie Rose distillery. A range of beer, cider, cocktails, and sake will also be on offer.

Tickets are $49 (+ bf) and include all cheese tastings plus a complimentary cooler bag for keeping cheese at the perfect temp once purchased from your favourite producers on the day.
