Nathan Lee is still waiting for the gas to be connected in his new and first venture. Previously the Pablo & Rusty lead barista for two years, Lee is now roasting and blending his own coffee for his Sydney 209 Castlereagh Street café.
The opening menu is presented on a cut out headed: Normcore Coffee Roasters OPEN BETA 1.80 #TEMPORARY_MENU
Coffee $3.50/$4.50 includes Batch brew, Manuel Brew and Cold Brew. Iced is five. Korean born Lee is proud of his Italian 'Black Eagle' and his staff which he nominates as Team Korea. While the starting food is a range of standard toasts, toasties, croissants and sandwiches, Lee is planning to offer Korean inspired food in his daytime café once there is gas for cooking.
Normcore by definition is a space between normal and hardcore. So what's the coffee here like? Yes it's v. good.
