St Paddy's Gay, The Imperial, Erskinville

Gear up in green for Paddy's Gay at the Imperial – the ultimate Queer St. Patrick's Day bash! Sydney St Patrick's Day Parade & Festival

For the first time in 10 years, the St. Patrick's Day Parade will be marching through Sydney CBD from Pitt Street / Hunter Street to Circular Quay at 11am. On the route there'll be a spectacle of colour, music, dance and a host of other surprises.

The four day festival for 2024 kicks off on Thursday 14 March 2024 with Sharon Shannon Big Band in The Factory Theatre! And there's Sásta back again for our free night concert on Saturday 16th in First Fleet Park as well as the famous Parade & Festival on Sunday 17 March - it's going to be huge!​

St. Patrick’s Day at The Doss House and Frank Mac's are proudly owned Irish bars located in the heart of The Rocks gearing up to host their legendary St. Patrick’s weekend celebration on 15 - 17 March! They have put together an incredible line up of Ireland and Sydney’s finest musicians for their St Patrick's day celebrations - from trad sessions to duos and soloists - guaranteeing great entertainment that'll have you up dancing all night long.

The Fiddler in Rouse Hill is one of the oldest Irish pubs in Sydney and they're going big for St Patrick's Day on Sunday 17 March.

“Last year's St. Patrick's Day celebration at The Fiddler was a massive success, with 3500 patrons enjoying the festivities. We served 40 kegs of Guinness, 250 pints of Magners, and 100 bowls of Irish stew, making it a true Irish shindig. This year, we’re expecting an even bigger turnout,” said Jo-Anne Saliba, The Fiddler’s Marketing Manager.

This year will be even bigger with celebrations kicking off on Thursday 14 March with Fiddler free community events including live Irish music, Irish dancers, free face painting and balloon activities for the kids, Irish food, eating competitions, an Irish dance-off competition, and free merchandise and giveaways. There'll also be Guinness, Green Beer, an Irish Breakfast (17th Sunday, 6.30 am - 10.30 am), a Tayto Eating Competition and Irish food specials all month.

There’s been a huge influx of Irish citizens in Australia. According to the Australian Department of Home Affairs, over 21,000 Irish citizens were granted working holiday visas in Australia in the 12 months leading up to July 2023, marking the highest recorded number in over 16 years.
