The Sydney Milpa Collective team behind Carbón, Calita, Londres 126, Porch & Parlour and Taqiza has complemented the romance of their Kellet Street Potts Point terrace wine bar restaurant with beautiful oil paintings, a stunning chandelier centrepiece and mood lighting. Yes, Bar Lucia is perfect for a romantic date night. The adults only theme extends to the wine list selection curated by Kasia Sobiesiak, where wines are served deliberately as if this was a juice shop. Bar Lucia does adulting in its finest. And there's more to love - with the wine list focus on female winemakers.

While the full Bar Lucia menu also has more substantial night out offerings, and does weekend lunch and afternoon delights, we love the scrumptious cocktails and tapas grazing options at Bar Lucia to set your date night above the rest.
With bites starting at only $8 a piece Bar Lucia is also a very affordable option. The best bites here include Cangrejo Croqueta crab and squid ink croquette ($8 ea), Montadito Morcilla blood sausage, red capsicum, caramilised onion and pear($8 ea), as well as the heartier tapas Bomba Bacalao lil-pid cod bechamel, aioli and sweet paprike.
I absolutely adored the Pintxo de Lengua ox tongue skewer with salsa verde ($12 ea) and was over the moon with this tender yet charred mouth feel, one of the best versions I've experienced. For those less inclined to venture outside normal boundaries, Bar Lucia also offers pintxo (skewers) of pork ($10) or salmon ($12). But if you do nothing else in your life, I highly recommend being a little bit adventurous on date night.
Even if it's your partner (or crew) rather than your hook up, a visit to Bar Lucia will completely satisfy and have you coming back for seconds and thirds. Who could ask for more?
