Carriageworks Spring Seasonal Market returns this Saturday 16 September, 8am - 1pm.

Celebrating the arrival of springtime, the market will feature the freshest seasonal produce alongside an exciting program of live talks, cooking demonstrations and hands-on workshops.

Visitors can browse the best new seasonal produce, from zucchini flowers, asparagus, peas, broad beans, blood oranges, garlic and goats cheese, with founder of Wormticklers Nursery and permaculture expert Jordan Sly onsite to answer visitors’ Spring gardening questions and give advice on how to start growing organic produce at home. The free public program also includes a live cooking demonstration with founder of Condimental, Cameron Stephens, who will be cooking a delicious recipe inspired by new season Spring produce and sharing his tips for capturing the freshest flavours of the season with a variety of condiments from jams, pickles, shrubs and sauces, that can continue to be enjoyed year-round.

Tickets are now on sale for a special kids workshop by stallholder Maya Sunny Honey, where participants will learn about the importance of bees and the role beekeepers play through an observational beehive, alongside an interactive experience extracting delicious honey from beehive frames. Each student will get to take home a jar of Raw Maya Sunny Honey.

Two brand new stallholders join the market this Spring, returning throughout the year, including Leaning Oak, an artisan cheese factory in Somersby who use locally sourced cows and goats milk. Owner and cheesemaker Gloria Heap will bring a range of her cows and goats milk cheeses, including fetta, blue, brie, halloumi, soft ripened, spreadable and curds. Sydney Strawberry Patch will bring strawberries from their small family run farm in Mount Vernon, along with hydroponic lettuce and limited amounts of other fresh produce such as beans and peas when seasonally available.

The CARRIAGEWORKSCLIVE program includes Meet The Producer: Wormticklers Nursery (pictured) 10am - 10.30am

Meet Jordan Sly, founder of Wormticklers Nursery, growers of the best quality, organic, chemical-free, seasonal seedlings.
