Sydney has always been a shining jewel in NSW’s diverse and expansive tourism offering and from this month Australia’s premier state will become the focus of its own dedicated brand campaign Feel New Sydney providing a fast-paced snapshot into the diverse array of experiences Sydney offers visitors and the stars are the city’s welcoming local neighbourhoods, vibrant energy, rich culture and buzzing night-time economy.

Always willing to help out, Sydney Scoop has put together our own list of Five Ways To Feel New In Sydney:

Feel a new sense of freedom

Whether you’re getting active in the outdoors, testing yourself with a new adventure or just breathing it all in, by its nature Sydney liberates your senses. Feel Sydney summer wash over you when you learn to surf in Bondi, Dee Why or Cronulla; as you snorkel among colourful marine life in Cabbage Tree Bay; or as your Thunder Jet Boat spins across the Harbour. Let the bush soothe your spirit as you float in ancient waterholes; paddle your rowboat on Lake Parramatta; or choose your own adventure on Lane Cove National Park’s wild trails where you can hike in pristine nature all the way to Newcastle if you feel like it.

Feel a new sense of self

Soothe away stress with a luxury pampering treatment at The Langham’s Day Spa, a wellness experience at Slow House Bondi, heal in float therapy at City Cave or soak yourself to serenity at the Balmain Bathhouse. Salute the sunrise with a Yoga By the Sea class in Bondi, Bronte, Manly or Freshwater, or soak up dawn’s colours on a kayaking tour of Pittwater or Sydney Harbour.

Feel the moment

Time seems to stand still when you’re with your favourites, and on a Sydney night out, the happy moments layer up to create lifelong memories. Even as the hours whizz by, the evening feels young when you and the crew wander from one secret bar to the next in the YCK Laneways, pair good brews with great banter at Mary's, Employees Only, or try Thunderbolt Strong Ale inspired by Sydney’s historic 'gentleman bushranger' Captain Thunderbolt at the refurbished Pumphouse; bounce from club to club; or throw shapes against the shimmering city skyline on a Glass Island party cruise. Be moved by live music at Enmore Theatre, The Hordern Pavilion, The Vanguard or The Metro Theatre.

Feel Sydney through its stories

Step beyond the glitter of the city skyline to discover its secret stories on an architecture tour of The Rocks; go behind the scenes at Sydney Opera House and Sydney Cricket Ground, or take a ghost tour of Parramatta Gaol or Q Station. Be moved as the human journey is brought to life by Bangarra Dance Theatre and the Sydney Dance Company; Sydney's newest indie theatre Kings Cross Theatre (KXT) or Sydney's oldest New Theatre (Newtown); at Riverside Theatre and the Casula Powerhouse

Feel Sydney through fresh eyes

Be a tourist in your own city at Sydney ZooSymbio Wildlife Park or Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park. Gets hands-on at exhibits at the Maritime MuseumAustralian MuseumMuseum of Sydney, and Powerhouse Museum. Unleash your adventurous spirit at Aquatopia’s wave pool or cool off at the Darling Quarter Water Park; feel the adrenaline surge at  Raging Waters Sydney or Luna Park.
